Schwarzwaldeckhaus is a place of spiritual renewal and community-building on the brow of a beautiful, secluded mountain in the heart of Lilienfeld district – the largest forest-covered area in Austria. Surrounded by a thick forest and idyllic alpine pastures, it is a place to escape from the noise of everyday life, make unforgettable memories and forge life-long friendships. It is available to church groups for retreats, mini-camps, and other spiritual events to bring their participants closer to Christ.
A charming sanctuary in the Austrian Alps
Schwarzwaldeckhaus is more than a historic house - it is a place where generations of Christians have found refreshment and encouragement in their faith. Filled with laughter, singing, friendly conversation or just quiet meditation, the house has witnessed many lives changed for the better. It offers a "back to simpler times" experience for groups up to 45 people.
A place for spiritual renewal and fun
Schwarzwaldeckhaus is about the people who visit it and the community their create. From weekend retreats and occasional getaways to annual summer camps, it is temporary home for many to take time to refocus and reprioritize their life. The house comes alive when it is filled with the joyful voices of those who visit. We welcome and invite you to consider attending one of our regular events or starting your own.
Help preserve the house for future generations
Our non-profit organization exists to help take care of the house to preserve it for future generations. There is always something to do: from minor cleaning and repairs to major renovation projects, we need willing hands to help us keep it in a good condition. Due to its remote location, repairs and renovations carry considerable financial costs. We are always thankful for financial support to provide resources needed for the upkeep of the house.
